The Italian system of preventing and combating violence against women is characterized by the interconnection between a plurality of subjects who intervene, at different levels, to combat a structural phenomenon that is difficult to eradicate. On the one hand there are the national and regional institutions, which define the reference legislative framework, the policies, the criteria for the transfer of funds; on the other hand, third sector subjects who concretely carry out interventions to prevent and combat the phenomenon, supporting the victims in their path of empowerment, also on the basis of public funding and in partnership with local institutions.
