Research
activities
The research activities of the Institute follow the lines laid out in its
founding act:
1. Study of the relationship between population trends and social and
economic development: applied social research and public opinion surveys;
gender and family studies; analysis of social structural change and
population dynamics; migration studies; statistical-computational studies;
health economic and health studies in a statistical-mathematical and
socio-medical perspective.
2. Study of social dynamics and policies regarding the welfare systems.
3. Study of societal change and the diffusion of knowledge and information technologies.
Following the entry into force (June 1st 2005) of the Rules of organization and functioning of the CNR, the research activities of IRPPS are divided into Research Units, as follows (CNR official list of the research units and modules):
