Evaluation of the efficacy and efficiency of melanoma and prostate cancer screening using Markov models.

1) assessment in terms of appropriateness, to identify selection criteria for subjects eligible for screening;

2) evaluation of the health consequences of the current levels of spontaneous screening;

3) evaluation of the related costs currently incurred;

4) evaluation of both the consequences and the hypothetical costs deriving both from spontaneous development and from specific public health programs.
