The project intends to support research institutions and universities in implementing cultural and institutional changes through the development of the Gender Equality Plan (GEP). The latter are tools that aim to identify and remove practices that they can produce gender bias, propose innovative strategies to overcome gender-related distortions, monitor progress through the development of gender indicators.
Among the main objectives of the project:
- Assess the state of gender issues in partner organizations through the statistical analysis of administrative data.
- Identify specific needs and actions to improve gender equality in partner institutions.
- Provide guidelines for the implementation of GEPs
- Support organizations involved in the implementation of personalized GEPs.
- Create a European network of research and university bodies and institutions to promote gender equality in the field of physics.
- Set up a long-term monitoring system for the impact of the measures taken.
The CNR IRPPS is responsible for WP2 and has developed a framework for the collection of administrative data relevant for gender analyzes in research organizations. As part of the activities of GENERA, the CNR hosted the first Gender Day in collaboration with the National Institute of Nuclear Physics and supported the European partner organizations in planning days to support gender equality in research organizations.
