The project sets out to identify the most suitable methodology for making use of the information on the presence and behaviour of foreigners collected at local level and, moreover, for identifying those good practices implemented at regional level which make use of statistical data in order to build useful policy assessment indicators. The research activities are focussed on three regions: Liguria, Puglia and Veneto. For every region, studies and descriptions were made of the regulatory and organizational framework and the specific regulations relating to the use of sources of information in particular to guarantee the integration of non-EU citizens. Furthermore, the original part of the statistical information produced by the project activities financed by the European Integration Fund was identified. The results of these activities will be used to outline a ‘Regional Model of Policy and Action Assessment’. Finally, specific indicators will be used to pinpoint operating guidelines guaranteeing greater correspondence between the regional planning and the information on the phenomenon.
The aim of this project is manifold: making use of information collected at local level; pinpointing good practices implemented at regional level which make use of statistical data in order to build useful policy assessment indicators; creating a regional policy and action assessment model; setting out guidelines for collecting, increasing and using information.
