Maura Misiti has a statistical-demographic background. She has been working at IRPPS since 1991. Since the 1990s, she has been dealing with demographic issues with a gender approach. In this context, her main interest has focused on the issue of violence against women, both through research and by providing expertise and support in the formulation and implementation of policies, such as the recent definition of the strategic outline of the current National Plan on Violence against Women (2107- 2020) with the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Department for Equal Opportunities. She also cooperates with other institutional agencies as well as with civil society actors in dissemination and awareness activities, such as the “Ferite a morte” project on femicide. With regard to her current research activity, she is coordinating the three-year ViVa project for the monitoring, evaluation and analysis of interventions to prevent and combat violence against women in Italy in collaboration with the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Department for Equal Opportunities. She also coordinates the DEA – Women in the Audiovisual Industry project for tackling gender inequalities in the cinema and audiovisual sector. In 2018 she led the SVEGLIE project which studied and evaluated the impact of the regulations and institutional practices introduced in recent years for the purposes of gender rebalancing in elective and government positions in collaboration with the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Department for Institutional Reform.
