Patrizia Grifoni graduated in Electronic Engineering in 1990 from the “La Sapienza” University in Rome. She has been a researcher at the Italian National Research Council Institute of Research on Population and Social Policies since 1990. She was a lecturer in “Image Processing” at the University of Macerata from 1993 to 2000. She is author of more than 200 papers in international journals, books and conference proceedings. She has headed and participated in several national and international research projects. She has experience in organizing several international conferences and scientific workshops (RRI-SIS2017, MONET, MIMIC, M2AS, MAPS); she is a member of some programming committees for international workshops and conferences, and a member of the editorial board of some international journals. Her main research areas of interest are: social informatics, social computing, human-machine interaction, multimodal interaction, sketch-based interfaces, multimedia applications, user modelling, data and knowledge bases, geographic information systems, responsible research and innovation, ethics, risk management, web 2.0, Internet of the future, GIS and social networks.
