The activity set out to analyse some aspects of the innovation and evaluation of social policies in order to understand the results and effects of social, education, training, social security, welfare interventions, etc., with relation to particular variables. In this field, important partnership networks have been put together with other institutes that are part of the CNR (IRCRES, IEIIT, ITD, IIT, ISTC, ILC), strengthening the institute’s role as an expert in the field of evaluation. Among the activities to quote: in the ‘Città Educante’ project, with over € 100,000 of funding for the two-year period 2016-2018, we worked on outlining and testing the project self-evaluation tools; for the Senate of the Republic Injury in the Workplace Inquest Commission, we are carrying out an evaluation activity on policies to protect health and safety in the workplace; for the Italian Red Cross we are conducting an activity to evaluate the social impact of organized volunteer work in Italy. In addition to continuing research on immigration, ‘The Losers of the Crisis’ comparative research has continued with Warwick University with funding from the British Academy. Its results were presented at the ISA Forum of Sociology in Vienna and at the International Labour and Employment Relations Association congress in Milan. Finally, partnerships have been formed with local institutions and professional communities for the realization of research activities, consultancy and training in the social services field.
Articles and essays have been published in international and national journals, as well as in the IRPPS ePublishing series. Seminars have also been organized to present the results of the research activity carried out.
