ViVa – Evaluation and Analysis of interventions to prevent and combat violence against women

The project – is the result of the collaboration agreement signed between the Department for Equal Opportunities of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers andResearch Institute on Population and Social Policies of the National Research Council, in the field of Analysis and evaluation of interventions to prevent and combat violence against women - has an expected duration of 36 months starting from 11 April 2022.

It is divided into two main areas of intervention:

Sector 1 - SUPPORT FOR POLICIES FOR THE PREVENTION AND COMBATING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

The purpose of the first area is to contribute, through research-action activities, to the planning and
the implementation of measures to prevent and combat violence against women. In particular, the
various activities envisaged therein are aimed at promoting:

  • the operational articulation of the interventions of the National Strategic Plan on male violence against women 2021-2023;
  • the review of the minimum requirements for access to funding for anti-violence centers and shelters and the definition of those relating to centers dedicated to male perpetrators of violence;
  • the creation of an updated mapping of the centers dedicated to male perpetrators of violence, which sheds light on their distribution and their main characteristics;
  • the identification and analysis of the functioning mechanisms of the empowerment measures activated at national and local level, aimed at women who undertake exit paths
    from violence.

This domain consists of the following working packages (WP):

  • WP1 – Contribution to the implementation of the new National Plan on male violence against women 2021-2023.
  • WP2 – Contribution to the revision of the Understanding relating to the minimum requirements of anti-violence centers and shelters (provided by art. 3, paragraph 4 of the DPCM of 24 July 2014, adopted by the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces on 27 November 2014) as well as the definition of the minimum requirements for access to public funding for centers for male perpetrators of violence.
  • WP3 – Second National Survey of Centers for Male Perpetrators.
  • WP4 – Analysis of territorial measures for the empowerment of women who undertake paths of escape from violence.

Area 2 - ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES OF POLICIES FOR THE PREVENTION AND COMBAT TO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

The purpose of this area is to evaluate the ability of the previous National Strategic Plan on male violence against women 2017-2020 and of the new National Strategic Plan on male violence against women 2021-2023 to achieve the planned strategic interventions.

This scope consists of the following working packages (WP):

  • WP5 – The final evaluation of the National Strategic Plan against violence against women 2017-2020.
  • WP6 – The ongoing evaluation of the New National Plan against violence against women.

Research team
