Lucio Pisacane is a researcher at the Institute for Research on Population and Social Policies (IRPPS-CNR). Previously, he worked at the CNR European and International Relations Unit, the International Department of Legambiente, the Polytechnic University of Turin, and the Dedalus social cooperative in Naples. <\/p>

He focused on poverty and the agricultural labor market in the years immediately following his PhD from Sapienza University of Rome in 2011. Currently, he works on studies and research regarding human resources for science, gender equality, and diversity and inclusion in research organizations. <\/p>

He participated in the European H2020 project GENERA<\/a> and is currently the CNR contact person for the H2020 project \u2013 MINDTHEGEPS<\/a>. He is the coordinator, along with Sveva Avveduto, of the Gender Equality Plan Working Group<\/a>. He supports actions and measures to promote gender equality and diversity management in research organizations, in the belief that inclusive and diverse work environments foster creativity and the quality of scientific work. <\/p>

Since February 2023, he has been coordinating the European project gEneSys<\/a>, Transforming Gendered Interrelations of Power and Inequalities for Just Energy Systems, on the social and gender aspects of the energy transition.<\/p>

In 2021, he served as a national expert for the European Institute for Gender Equality<\/a> and, since 2022, he has been a member of the expert group at the European Commission on the consequences of the pandemic on the research and innovation system<\/a>. Along with Cristiana Crescimbene and Nicol\u00f2 Marchesini (IRPPS), he represents the CNR in the technical monitoring group for the “No Women No Panel” campaign promoted by RAI. <\/p>

His research interests include Open Science (with the OpenUP<\/a> project) and the transformation of agricultural labor in Italy (collaborating with the FLAI CGIL Placido Rizzotto Observatory<\/a>), as well as the Libera la Terra<\/a> project on severely exploited labor in the primary sector and the EATS<\/a> project on social dialogue in agriculture (FAI-CISL).<\/p>

Over the last few years, he has supported the writing and management of, and worked on research for, several European projects within the 7th Framework Programme, Horizon 2020, and Horizon Europe.
He coordinates the IRPPS Knowledge Society<\/a> group.<\/p>
