Valentina Tudisca coordinates the Social Studies on Science, Education, Communication (COMESE) research group, whose main objective is to understand and enhance the relationships between science, policy, and society. Her research interests include: science communication; the relationship between evidence and decision-making processes; representations of international migration and migrants in the media and textbooks; participatory teaching. Cross-cutting across the various thematic areas is the use of participatory methodologies to involve various social actors in research activities.
One of her distinctive features is the interdisciplinarity of her research path, which began with physics, the subject in which she obtained her PhD, leading to the study of the relationship between science and society through a two-year master’s degree in science communication from the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) in Trieste.
In parallel with her research activity, she has also been active in science communication, collaborating with various publications such as Sapere<\/em>, National Geographic Italia<\/em>, and OggiScienza, <\/em>winning three national science journalism awards. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
