Currently, his main field of study is aging processes affecting the Italian and European labor markets. Following a life-course analysis approach, his focus is on the in-depth study of gender, class, and racial inequalities. His research path has particularly focused on the intersection of the sociology of work, economics, and welfare. His primary field of study is migration studies,<\/em> understood as a “total social fact”\u2014a cognitive prism for interpreting ongoing changes throughout society. In his studies, he has chosen the so-called “Italian migratory crossroads” as a point of observation, intending to investigate migration as a constantly evolving factor capable of simultaneously articulating movements with different destinations and opposing directions. Specifically, he has explored the dynamics of labor market racialization, the process of civic and administrative stratification in access to social rights, and the role of international mobility governance policies. Furthermore, his interests also extend to the analysis of forms of conflict and mobilization; in this field, he has analyzed the protests of entertainment industry workers during the Covid-19 pandemic. Passionate about participatory research methods, he has frequently utilized techniques and tools such as social inquiry and co-research. <\/p>

Antonio Sanguinetti earned his Master’s degree in Applied Social Sciences in 2013 from Sapienza University of Rome. At the same university, he completed his PhD in Sociology and Applied Social Sciences in 2017. From 2020 to 2022, he was a research fellow at the CNR-IRPPS as part of the Research Project of National Interest “Immigration, Integration, Settlement. Italian Style” under the supervision of Dr. Corrado Bonifazi. Subsequently, he spent another year as a research fellow at the same institute working on a project regarding the segmentation of the Italian labor market. During his studies, he was a visiting scholar at the Goethe University Frankfurt and the University of Leeds.
