{"id":32387,"date":"2025-01-16T14:57:22","date_gmt":"2025-01-16T14:57:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.irpps.cnr.it\/gender-and-intersectional-inequalities-in-energy-transition-genesys-autumn-school-2\/"},"modified":"2026-03-02T12:26:19","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T12:26:19","slug":"gender-and-intersectional-inequalities-in-energy-transition-genesys-autumn-school-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.irpps.cnr.it\/en\/gender-and-intersectional-inequalities-in-energy-transition-genesys-autumn-school-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Gender and Intersectional Inequalities in Energy Transition &#8211; gEneSys Autumn School"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Registration is now open for the gEneSys Autumn School: <strong>Gender and Intersectional Inequalities in Energy Transition<\/strong>, which will be held at <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.univiu.org\/focus-areas\/environmental-management-and-security\/genesys-autumn-school-2025\" target=\"_blank\">Venice International University<\/a> (VIU)<\/strong> <strong>from October 6 to 10, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Registration will be possible until March 31, 2025. <\/p>\n\n<p>The course is aimed at students (master&#8217;s degree and PhD), early-stage researchers and post-docs (in STEM and SSH fields), and science communicators. The course aims to explore the social, economic, and political dimensions of energy transition through a gender and intersectional lens, providing tools and insights to integrate such perspectives into research or professional work. Workshops and scenario building sessions are planned in an interdisciplinary and international setting.  <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>There are no participation fees.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>All information and the registration form<\/strong> are available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.univiu.org\/focus-areas\/environmental-management-and-security\/genesys-autumn-school-2025\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.univiu.org\/focus-areas\/environmental-management-and-security\/genesys-autumn-school-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>VIU website<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Training Modules<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Building evidence<\/strong>: What the scientific literature says about the link between gender and energy; a new ontology of energy systems, designed to explore the multidisciplinary nature of this field and the interconnections between its various components; and a gender analysis of the scientific community working in energy transition, highlighting gender inequalities in researcher participation and knowledge creation.<\/li><li><strong>Policy and cooperation<\/strong>: Gender and intersectional analysis of EU policies and cooperation agreements between the EU and Africa on energy and green infrastructure.<\/li><li><strong>Analytical Model<\/strong>: Intersections between socio-economic inequalities in citizens&#8217; behaviors and energy use.<\/li><li><strong>Textbook analysis<\/strong>: Analysis of educational material on energy transition and gender disparities in textbooks and curricula.<\/li><li><strong>Building a credible pathway<\/strong>: How to build alternative and inclusive pathways for energy transition.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p>The school is promoted within the framework of the <a href=\"https:\/\/genesys-project.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Horizon gEneSys Project<\/a> &#8220;Transforming Gendered Interrelations of Power and Inequalities in Transition Pathways to Sustainable Energy Systems&#8221;, coordinated by:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>National Research Institute on Population and Social Policies of CNR (CNR-IRPPS)<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p>With the participation of:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA)<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering, Center for Responsible Research and Innovation (IAO-CeRRI)<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Imperial College<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Jagiellonian University<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Portia<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Venice International University<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Registration is now open for the gEneSys Autumn School: Gender and Intersectional Inequalities in Energy Transition, which will be held at Venice International University (VIU) from October 6 to 10, 2025.
