Mission

The Institute for Research on Population and Social Policies is an interdisciplinary research institute dedicated to advancing understanding of the complex relationships between population trends and societal transformations. Its research examines the interactions between technological and digital innovation and social systems, processes of social change and intersubjectivity, and the transformation of political and welfare systems

The Institute investigates inequalities in their multiple intersecting dimensions, with particular attention to gender, territorial and economic inequalities. Within this perspective, it examines conflicts, social justice, education and science policies, as well as the processes through which social science research data are produced, shared, and preserved.

By integrating diverse theoretical, analytical, and empirical approaches, the Institute contributes to advancing knowledge on these issues from a systemic perspective. It also seeks to support the design of public policies and processes of innovation and social transformation, with particular attention to their implications for equity and social wellbeing.
