Information

Adele Menniti, a demographer at the CNR since 1984, is a Research Director and currently the lead for studies on Population, Gender, and Society. She has participated in numerous national and international projects and conducted surveys on population behaviors and attitudes, addressing various aspects of demographic and social change. In recent years, she has focused her attention on the analysis of gender gaps in domestic work; notable publications on this topic include “Housework and childcare in Italy: A persistent case of gender inequality” (Genus, 2015), “Modelli di genere e attività domestiche: genitori e figli a confronto” (Sociologia e ricerca sociale, 2016), and “The Gender Gap at Home and in The Labour Market: The Case of Italy” (Routledge, 2018). Recent projects include: Sport and Integration (2016-2017) and Women in Creative Professions: the case of the audiovisual sector (2016-2018). Since 2017, she has been working on male violence against women and gender balance in elective offices; research in these areas has been developed through two collaboration agreements with the Department for Equal Opportunities and the Department for Institutional Reforms of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
