Alice is a researcher with experience in the field of marine ecology, interested in the application of bio-economic models for fisheries management. Her research blends marine biology and economic principles, with the aim of optimizing fisheries management and sustainability. Within the SURIMI project, Alice is responsible for the evaluation and standardization of bio-economic data, which are subsequently used in the models developed for the project. Furthermore, she is involved in reviewing existing fisheries models and assessing their applicability and interoperability. Her work aims to promote sustainable fishing practices and provide useful guidance for management policies that balance ecological conservation with the economic development of the fishing sector.
Her research interests concern marine ecology and applied sciences. Her research focuses on the anthropogenic impacts on marine demersal communities, with particular attention to commercial fishing and the accumulation of marine macro- and micro-pollutants, using an integrated modeling approach that combines ecological data, machine learning, statistical and spatial analysis to simulate, evaluate, and predict the impact on marine ecosystems.
