Sport and Integration
This research project addresses the theme of integration among the younger generations and its relationship with sports practice. it is part of the recent debate on the role of sport as a means of integration and the fight against social exclusion at European and national levels, and on the need to launch interventions in our country to foster coexistence between young Italian and foreign citizens. The study utilizes a survey conducted among students and teachers and covers themes of participation in sports practice among young people and the sharing of core sporting values among students, in addition to other aspects related to peer relationships in school and extracurricular settings. During the 2016-2017 school year, the survey was carried out among a sample of lower secondary schools, while in the 2017-2018 school year, it will involve a sample of upper secondary schools.
The project is part of the program agreement for the promotion of integration policies through sport by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies and CONI.
