Currently his main field of study is the aging processes that concern the Italian and European labor market. Following a life cycle analysis approach, his focus is on the deepening of gender, class and racial inequalities. His research path has particularly involved the intertwining of the sociology of work, economics and welfare. The privileged field of study is i migration studies, understood in the sense of "total social fact" i.e. a cognitive prism to interpret the changes taking place in society as a whole. In his studies he has chosen the so-called "Italian migratory crossroads" as an observation point, with the aim of investigating migrations as continually evolving factors capable of articulating movements with different destinations and opposite directions at the same time. In particular he has explored the dynamics of racialisation of the labor market, the process of civic and administrative stratification in access to social rights and the function of international mobility governance policies. Furthermore, his interests also range in the analysis of forms of conflict and mobilization, in this field he analyzed the protests of entertainment workers during the Covid-19 pandemic. Passionate about participatory research methods, he has often referred to techniques and tools such as social inquiry and co-research.
