Theatrical practices in the training of social workers to build well-being relationships

Tiziana Tesauro and Tiziana Tarsia are the authors of the article titled “Theatrical practices in the training of social workers to build well-being relationships” published in issue 2/2021 of the journal Welfare e Ergonomia edited by FrancoAngeli

“The contribution describes and analyzes an experience of theater of the oppressed organized in the university setting and uses it as a pretext to reflect on the close relationship that exists between the psycho-social well-being of social workers, their training as professionals, and the techniques of social theater. The text emphasizes the circularity between experiential knowledge and theoretical knowledge in a framework that promotes theater as a space of potentiality and awareness. In this space, social workers can experiment with the possibility of managing their own power and exploring the conflicts that emerge in the helping relationship to restore well-being to themselves and to the people served by the services. …”
