The IRPPS objectives in the EVIDENCE Project are to carry out a classification of relevant concepts of the electronic evidence domain and related fields (criminal law, criminal procedure). This leads to a common and shared understanding of electronic evidence gathering and exchange. The EVIDENCE Categorization activity aims to provide the project and the actors involved with a common language to be utilized for identifying, connecting, and aligning all relevant activities within the Project. The categorization exercise has been important in the process of elaborating the EVIDENCE Road Map, which includes guidelines, recommendations, and technical standards for realizing the missing Common European Framework for the systematic and uniform application of new technologies in the collection, use, and exchange of Electronic Evidence.
