UniSAFE launched: the survey on gender-based violence in universities and research institutions

UniSAFE has been launched, a survey aimed at improving knowledge on the prevalence and characteristics of gender-based violence. It is conducted within a community, which the CNR has joined, consisting of 46 universities and research organizations from 15 European countries.

Gender-based violence is commonly defined as violence directed against a person because of their gender or violence that disproportionately affects persons of a specific gender. It is therefore not limited to violence against women but can affect all individuals.

The UniSAFE research team welcomes responses from all genders and all staff, including researchers, technologists, research fellows, and technical-administrative staff. Participation in this survey, even by those who have not directly experienced violence, will help create robust and measurable evidence on the persistent and often underestimated phenomenon of gender-based violence in academia and research.
