World Refugee Day
In order to intensify efforts to contribute to the peace and security of refugees, the United Nations General Assembly chose to celebrate World Refugee Day on June 20 of each year.
The action of the Convention of the Italian Network of UNESCO Chairs (ReCUI) is part of this collective effort, which is intertwined with the need to address the current complexity of the migratory phenomenon; on January 24, the network approved a shared Statement on migration.
CNR-IRPPS participates in this work with the contribution of researcher Angela Paparusso, a member of the UNESCO Chair in “Population, Migration and Development” at Sapienza University, among the promoters and authors of this Statement.
The Statement, available here, discusses the main areas involved in this challenge, such as education, cities, places and territories, health, and participatory citizenship.
